Our Goal
My Anchor Foundation aims to provide therapeutic support to underserved and high need individuals and families afflicted with behavior concerns and skill deficits. Our goal is to assist in the effort of taking their education a step further by providing professional and technical assistance with navigating, utilizing and developing systems of support in their communities.
Advocacy
We aim to ensure our community members are informed of their rights and can access resources and services available to them regardless of their own resources or limitations. We provide advocates to our families that have the unfortunate (but all too common) experience of having to interact with individuals and institutions that intentionally engage in practices that discriminate against or prevent peaceful participation by individuals because of their behavioral concerns and limitations.
Family Support
Family Support can come in the form of emotional, physical, expert assistance and financial support for families that have the odds stacked against them due to the severity of a loved one’s disability. It also comes in the form of purchasing behavior specific equipment that can help an individual with needs such as sensory, augmented communication, transportation and home modifications.
Behavior Support
Behavior Support can come in the form of providing an expert level support staff who can manage severe behavior challenges and maintain safety, while allowing a primary caregiver to take a break in order to do personal, family, educational or vocational tasks or even have a period of quiet time with no alarms to simply relax.
